A construction worker died on a site in Ajman last week after the scaffolding he was working on collapsed.

According the The National, the Sudanese man fell from the 10th floor of a building and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was later taken to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital.

A doctor at the hospital, Dr Abdul Karim Al Helmi, told the newspaper that the man had died as a result of a severe head injury and multiple fractures.

He added that accidents on construction sites were the most common emergencies the hospital had to deal with and called for improved safety on sites.
