SR Technics, part of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, has established its senior management team, comprising experienced Malaysian and Swiss professionals, and has recruited 17 technicians and four certifying technicians of Malaysian nationality for its new component repair facility in Kuala Lumpur, which is due to open at the end of 2013.

Heading the team is General Manager Heinz Freimann, who previously led the Component Maintenance division at SR Technics’ Zurich headquarters and has spent over 15 years in the aviation industry. During his time at the company, he has worked in the areas of aircraft services, technical documentation, customer support and business development. As Head of Component Maintenance, Freimann was responsible for leading the implementation of lean six sigma principles, resulting in significant performance improvements.

Also joining the Malaysian team from SR Technics’ Swiss operation are Christian Meyer as Head of Finance & Shared Services and Julien Robineau as Head of Supply Chain. Meyer has been the project lead for the expansion project into Malaysia since October 2011. In his new role, he will take responsibility for building the finance operations and respective interfaces with the Group; the development of costing and pricing structures, and the build-up of shared services. Robineau will join the team in September 2013, and has worked for SR Technics since September 2012. He will manage the ramp-up of the new operation’s purchasing and logistics function, including material planning, procurement and import and export control.

As Head of Maintenance Operations, Joel Lim will be responsible for managing day-to-day workmanship performance and quality; driving continuous improvement and optimization of processes and procedures; and also ensuring that the right personnel and skill sets are in place to meet demand. He joins SR Technics Malaysia on June 1, 2013 from Transmile Air Services in Malaysia where he was General Manager, Engineering. An experienced professional, Lim has worked in the MRO sector for over 15 years in management, engineering, instructor and auditor positions.

Sivadass Krishnan was appointed in March 2013 as Human Resources Manager. He joins SR Technics from Alstom Asia Pacific SdnBhd in Kuala Lumpur, where he was responsible for HR management for employees within the Power Plant division. Krishnan brings over 20 years’ experience in HR Management for industrial organizations to the team, and will be responsible for on-boarding the new employees and the on-going management of the whole HR lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, time management, reporting and exiting of staff.

Completing the team is Jimmy Khaw Teik Lim from Hamilton Sundstrand, who joins as Quality & Safety Manager. With around 20 years in the aviation industry, Khaw has solid experience earned from working in start-up operations. During his 15 years with Hamilton Sundstrand in Malaysia he held a number of Quality positions. In his new role, Khaw will be responsible for coordinating and managing internal and external audits for aviation authorities and customers and compliance with local health & safety regulations. He will also ensure that the quality standards in the new facility are as those upheld in SR Technics’ Zurich headquarters.

The technicians officially joined the Malaysia team during May 2013 and start their five-month training program, which will run initially for two months with SR Technics’ local training partner, D’viation Solutions. This will be followed by three months’ on-the-job-training in Zurich.
